For the Workshop session in the afternoon, you will be able to choose two out of three possible workshops. Have a look at the workshop titles below and decide which are your preferred before you arrive so that you can sign up when you arrive.
Workshop 1: Science Communication
In this workshop you will learn how to effectively engage others with the Ocean and Ocean conservation.
Workshop 2: Life in our Ocean – Hot, Sour and Out of Breath
Discuss how low oxygen, low pH and high temperatures might affect marine life, and then compose a ‘hypothetical’ letter to our political leaders that explains how you see the issues and what you would like your leaders to do about it.
Workshop 3: Aliens in the Water
Explore how introduced, invasive species can impact native marine wildlife and how we live our lives. Learn how this will be affected by changing seas and what YOU can do to help.
We are delighted to let you know that you have been allocated a slot on the 17.15 optional tour of the National Marine Biological Library, for which you expressed an interest when you registered. The tour will last approximately 30 minutes and will give you an opportunity to take a sneak peek at the Library’s rich collections of books, journals, objects and archives. Meeting point will be at Reception.
